Systemic Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis cause recurrent fevers, joint pain, a macular rash, joint deformities, an enlarged liver or spleen, and can have pericardial effusions or polyserositis.

The most commonly known forms of Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis are considered to be autoimmune diseases, but there are new findings that suggest that Systemic Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (SJIA) is a rare subtype of systematic Juvenile Idiopathic Artheritis and it should be classified as an auto inflammatory disease rather than autoimmune disease. Systemic Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis is also called as Still’s disease. Systemic Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis patients show signs that there are abnormalities in the innate immune system in their body.

Symptoms of systematic juvenile idiopathic arthritis are rash, fever, pain and inflamed joints; it can resemble those of other common diseases. This can make diagnosing of SJIA more challenging.
