Hepatitis C is a virus which causes liver disease and inflammation of liver, more than 3.5 million people in the U.S. have the disease. But it causes only few symptoms, so most of them don’t know that they have that disease.

How do people get hepatitis c?
The virus starts to spread through the blood or body fluids of an infected person by Sharing drugs and used needles, Having sex, especially when if you have an STD, an HIV infection, having several partners or have rough sex, using infected needles, Birth time- a mother can pass it to a child and it doesn’t spread through food, water, or by casual contact.
Who are at risk of getting hepatitis c?
You must get tested for the disease if you have received blood from a donor who had the disease, have ever injected drugs, had a blood transfusion or an organ transplant before July 1992, who have received a blood product used to treat clotting problems before 1987, who were born between 1945 and 1965, who have been on long-term kidney dialysis, who have HIV and who were born to a mother with hepatitis C.

You should have a blood test to see if you have the hepatitis C virus.
How it can be treated?
Hepatitis C treatments can be done by using once-daily pill combination of elbasvir and grazoprevir called Zepatier. It has the ability to cure the disease in almost 100% of those treated.
