BREAST CANCER
The breast is made up of lobules that can make milk and there are thin tubes called ducts that carry the milk from the lobules to the nipple. Breast tissue contains fat and connective tissue, blood vessels and lymph nodes.
The most common type of breast cancer is ductal carcinoma which usually starts off in the inner lining of milk ducts or the lobules that supply them with milk and malignant tumor can spread to other parts of the body. Breast cancer that started in the lobules is known aslobular carcinoma and the one that developed from the ducts is called ductal carcinoma.
The vast majority of breast cancers occur in females there is also male breast cancer. It accounts that 16% of all female cancer, 22.9% of invasive cancers in women, 18.2% of people both male and female in world are having death because of breast cancer.
Breast cancer rates are much higher in developed nations such as USA compared to developing ones such as INDIA. There are several reasons for this, breast cancer is more common in elderly women; women in the richest countries live much longer than women in the poorest nations. The different lifestyles and eating habits of females in rich and poor countries are also contributory factors as it is believed by experts.
