OSTEOSARCOMA

An osteosarcoma is a cancer that starts in the bone. It is a common type of cancer, the cell that form the cancer makes the bone matrix; this bone matrix is not as strong as the normal bone. Osteosarcoma occurs in adults and children, teens are the most affect group but osteosarcoma can happen at any age.

In children and adult the cancer cell form in the area where the growth is fast, most tumors develop around the knee, osteosarcoma can develop in any bone such as pelvis, shoulder, jaw etc.

SYMPTOMS OF OSTEOSARCOMA:

People who suffer from osteosarcoma do not feel sick, people may have pain in the affected areas and may have limps, often pain is thought to be growing pains but it doesn’t go away on time, people see to a doctor only when they have some injury, the cancer cells makes the bone so weak that they break easily.

DIAGNOSIS TOOLS:

The diagnose of osteosarcoma can be done by using an MRI scan of entire bone, chest X-RAY and CT-SCAN, BONE SCAN, BIOPSY.

There are two types of biopsies they are a needle aspiration or a surgerical biopsy.
